WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE WHEN YOU WORK WITH MRS. MODESTE?
1.Initial Assessment and Consultation- Our first session together with me will be gathering personal interests and academic needs from the student. I will have the student read word lists from the Qualitative Reading Inventory. It's an individually administered informal reading inventory (IRI) which provides diagnostic information about decoding, fluency, and comprehension.
2. Individualized instruction-
The free reading assessment will guide my individualized plan for your child. I will close the gaps over the next three months by implementing the plan that attack the gaps found in the reading assessment. One to one online tutoring sessions allow me to meet the needs of the student and adapt my instructions to their learning style and interest. Finally, I will reassess to find out what gains have been made.
3. Group Tutoring Program-
High level of communication skills such as negotiation, speaking skills, and dialogue are soft skills not taught in schools. The group comprehension classes is a blended learning style that provides a friendly environment led by Mrs. Modeste compassionate heart and delivery stylye that holds students accountable. Students are highly engaged through techological tools such as zoom interacting whiteboards, interactive vocabulary building apps, education games and quizlet practice for greater retention. Students learn at a higher rate from peer-to-peer collaboration and thinking.
4. Ongoing support - I am available via email to support my clients. I offer suggestions for activities you can do at home to support your student and a dynamic, flexible instructional plan.
We have a reading and writing tutoring plan for everyone grades 6th-12th.

Who is this package right for?
The BE-Readers summer group program is for 10-15 year-old students who are interested in keeping their reading skills fresh and/or in need of catching up in reading and writing over the summer months. This summer program is perfect for students who loves diverse literature and books for middle and high schoolers.
Summer 1 : June 5- July 3
(11AM-12PM CST)
Summer 11 : July 10- August 7 (11AM-12PMCST)
What's included?
✔️1 weekly 50-60 minutes
✔️Small Group tutoring session for June and July. (5 students)
✔️A dynamic high-paced full of interactive games, whiteboard activities and engaging socractic discussion methods weekly lessons geared toward increasing reading comprehension skills.
✔️Monthly access to vocabulary platforms
✔️Progress check and detailed assessment report.
✔️Supplemental materials as needed for use between sessions.

This package is for students who are identified by schools as struggling, reluctant, and 1-2 grade levels behind and will benefit from individualized attention and support from a professional literacy specialist.
What's included?
✔️1 weekly 50-60 minutes
✔️ 1:1 tutoring sessions for 12 weeks.
✔️Individualized, responsive and engaging weekly lessons geared toward your child’s specific needs and goals
✔️Monthly access to vocabulary platforms
✔️Supplemental materials as needed for use between sessions.
✔️Progress check and detailed assessment report.
✔️One 45 minute meeting between the parent and tutor to review the progress check and report at the end of each semester.

This package is for students who have struggled ongoing in school without any success for years. These students are assessed several grade levels behind and in need of getting caught up quickly and intensive sessions more frequently.

These students are assessed at reading grade level or a minimum of 1 grade level behind, or students who are in need of getting caught up quickly through a crash course on reading comprehension strategies.
